Treasure Hunt
Many of you know my wife and I love antiques. Every collector has a favorite era in time and ours would be the Victorian Era. Although our collection covers more than just that era, it’s our favorite. My wife and I have to search to find a treasure; it might be as simple as a Victorian Valentine’s Day card or as extreme as a chair being eight feet tall and seven feet wide. “It’s a big chair but I love it!” We enjoy being the caretaker of these treasures until it’s someone else’s someday. I not only have collections at home; I keep some Kenton collectibles in my office as conversation pieces. Stop by and let me share the neat items of our past with you. Because of our County Home’s rich heritage, we also have old pictures, furniture and several miscellaneous items that have been passed down that reflect our solid past in the nursing home business. I continue to be proud of our history as well as excited about our future. I consider it a part of my job to look to the past and to the future to make the best decisions for today. I’ve been given many history lessons from people older than myself. This is how things and people stay alive is by talking about them. Whether in our memory or the antique in front of us, let’s not forget who people were and what they liked.
